About Us

Granite Rock Retrievers started with a shared love of dogs, retriever training, and the hunt test game - and it’s grown into something really special.

We’re Chad and Sharon Sweep, based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Before we met, we were both active in the retriever world - and when we ended up in the same training group, things just clicked! In 2019, we brought home a very sweet golden girl, Tess - and that was the beginning of Granite Rock Retrievers.

Together, we have more than 40 years of experience training and competing in hunt tests and field trials. In the fall, we love heading to South Dakota for pheasants and to Canada for ducks and geese.

Our goal is to produce healthy, talented Golden Retrievers with great dispositions . . . dogs that will succeed in any venue, the field, in companion sports, and as part of the family. Our pups have gone on to earn titles in a variety of venues and, just as importantly, become wonderful companions.
